NORTH BOULDER'S OLD SCHOOL TRADITION

COMMUNITY OPEN POOL

Sure, it's not the same this year. 2020 has brutalized our very idea of normal and wrecked havoc on our work and our fun. But we have been able to create a little bit of hope, a sliver of normalcy in an otherwise abnormal time. We found a way to run our old school pool in a very new school way and give the families of Boulder and beyond a chance to relax, soak up the sun, and at least for an hour or two, experience Summer the way it should be felt, pandemic or not.

There are rules that must be followed. Expectations that must be lived up to. You can read all about it below and we encourage you to do so because, quite frankly, we have developed a system to eliminate the problems that occur when you don't read.

We look forward to hosting the families of Boulder this Summer (all through September) to clear, chlorinated water, sweet tunes, SnackShack sugar rushes and an exceptional margharita from our patio bar.

Summer may be a little bit shorter at the pool this year, but it's some of the best times you'll get to experience all Summer long.

NOTHING IS THE SAME AS LAST YEAR

NEW POOL RULES

For now, pools across Colorado are allowed to open if they follow a strict set of protocols and procedures. And while the state will allow for community pools, they openly prefer lap swimming. There's a lot to running a pool safely this summer, and at the Boulder Elks, we want you to know the steps we are taking to ensure your safety and what a day at the pool looks like this summer for lap swimmers and families alike.

We will be strictly adhering to the rules and recommendations set forward in the most current Public Health Order from the state,

https://covid19.colorado.gov/safer-at-home/recreation.

As we are all aware, these orders are subject to change. When they do, we will change with them if at all possible. Until then, here is what you can expect when the Elks opens up as a community pool and you come to play.

WE'VE GOT TO KEEP THINGS ON THE UP & UP

RESERVATION RULES

WHEN YOU BOOK A RESERVATION FOR COMMUNITY POOL

YOU CAN ONLY BOOK FOR YOUR HOUSEHOLD.

Not your friends, or your neighbors, or your pretend children. That's not how this works. We are trying to provide a small piece of normal in the middle of this pandemic. Something safe, fun and peaceful. Individuals who provide the pool with false, inaccurate or misleading information jeopardize all of that. So don't do it. And if you do, you're out.

AND... your reservation should reflect payment for $10 per person. If it doesn't, don't make that reservation. The system will default to the number of slots actually available. You can't make a reservation for 5 and pay $10. You're accidentally making a reservation for 1.

-You will reserve a time and date to visit the pool on this website-

-Payment for your reservation is due at the time you make the online reservation-

-Family reservations are to be made for members of the same household-

-Multiple families MAY NOT SHARE A TABLE-

-Masks must be worn by all individuals entering and exiting the pool-

-Your family will be assigned a specific colored wristband which must be worn-

-You will be taken to your table and a staff member will gladly answer any questions-

-Enjoy yourself, but please remember that our rules and protocols are

state orders and are here for your safety and ours-

-Social Distancing measures are in effect and will be enforced-

-No children under the age of 16 are permitted inside the pool without  adult supervision-

THE TIMES CHANGE BUT OUR STORY REMAINS

BOULDER'S STORY

For more than 50 years, the Boulder Elks Pool & Patio has been a gathering place for Boulder families, athletes, organizations and community leaders. And for the Summer of 2020, we're going to be those things again. But it will look a little different...

We've seen all of the changes to this great city, nevermore so than during the COVID-19 pandemic, but we never lost sight of who and what we were; a perfect spot in nature where families can spend their days building memories that will last across lifetimes.

It's not uncommon to see Grandparents cheering on their Grandkids at a Saturday morning swim meet in the very same pool they learned to swim in years earlier. But not in 2020.

Or share memories and stories over a plate of Friday night BBQ with neighbors old and new across Boulder. Except, not in 2020.

We know that a pool can do more than cool you off on a hot summer's day. We've seen ours build friendships, strengthen relationships, inspire personal greatness and foster kindness for decades. And we will see that again in 2020. Albeit six feet apart in the sunshine!

Make the Boulder Elks Pool & Patio part of your families story this summer, and see how much better your memories can be. We are going to move through this together. And together, we will come out better on the other side.

MOM, I'M HUNGRY!

Stop me if you have never heard those words before. For the rest of us, you can be assured that on a day to day basis, the SnackShack is there to provide children of all ages something to nosh on.

So whether is something to hold you over until dinner, a sweet snack after lunch or a high dive celebration Popsicle, we've got you covered.

WALK, BUDDY, WALK!

We want the Boulder Elks Pool & Patio to be the most fun it possibly can be, but it's still a pool,

and pools have rules to keep people safe. We also have our own rules to keep the vibe chill.

Because there is nothing worse than a pool with an unchill vibe.
