She graduated from CU Boulder in 2010 and began coaching and teaching lessons in 2011. Lauren has coached all ages and levels, from learn-to-swim to Olympic trials qualifiers. She has mainly coached in the Boulder area with Mesa Swim Team, Fairview and Monarch High Schools, RallySport Aquatic Club and Colorado School of Mines, in addition to teaching 15 years of private lessons. Jen Lavely

Jen is a Colorado native - experienced athlete and coach - who credits her success to the influence of athletics in her life; specifically a positive and healthy relationship with sport during her formative years. She swam competitively through college at Willamette University and there began competing successfully in triathlons. Running became her primary sport during graduate school at Yale University School of Public Health. Thereafter, she returned to Colorado; formed and coached for 10 years the Peak to Peak Swim Team (youth and masters swim teams), and worked as a county public health director.
She worked full time for seven years as a coach for athletes of all ages and needs on Peak to Peak Swim Teams, Indian Peaks Running Club, Boulder Track Club, Fleet Feet, Nederland Middle and High School Cross Country, Track, and Field teams, and Boulder Valley School District's Nordic Ski Team. She has also worked as a PE teacher at Chinook West and privately to clients around the world.
Jen believes anyone can do anything so long as they are willing to try. She is eager to meet athletes at this crossroads of curiosity and momentum, and feels the best motivation is positive. Her coaching philosophy, which she keeps fresh by constant study of and participation in sport, is simple. 1) The 1 or 2 hours every athlete spends with her should be the best hours of their day; 2) It is always fun while tackling the learning curve; and 3) Every athlete gets the same, positive, dignified, and empowering attention from their coach regardless of ability, needs, or goals. She genuinely feels that the bright spot in her every day is the opportunity she has coaching YOU!
