LAP SWIMMING & POOL RUNNING
From mid-September to the end of May, the Boulder Elks Pool and Patio is home to some of the best and healthiest lap swimming/pool running opportunities in Boulder County. Enjoy our outdoor, heated pool (82 degrees) through the six months of Fall and Winter. The pool remains open unless extreme cold or untimely snow/ice forces a closure. Hot showers await you after all of that healthy, outdoor exercise is over!
The most important thing to understand is that the Boulder Elks Pool is a Swim At Your Own Risk pool. There are no lifeguards on duty and swimmers assume upon entry that their primary safety and well being is their own responsibility.
LAP SWIMMING/POOL RUNNING DAYS and HOURS
Lap Swims and Pool Runs are always and only available for reservation and purchase from this website. You cannot "drop-in" to swim or pool run. Reservations can be made up to the stated start time of the session. Reservations can also be made, rescheduled or canceled through the website up to 30 minutes before the stated start time of the session.
In September of 2025, Lap Swimming and Pool Running will be offered every Monday, Wednesday and Friday at regularly scheduled times. Your options will broaden beginning in October of 2025 to swimming opportunities Monday through Friday, 5 days a week.
Each reserved session is one-hour long. Lanes are divided into A/B for reservation purposes only. A maximum of six people are allowed in the diving well. If you are sharing a lane, we ask that you and the additional swimmer work out how you want to share the lane. Keep it low key and casual. Be an easy swimmer please.
From September 15 (Monday) through September 29 (Monday), reserved lap swimming is available at 7, 9, 10 and 11am. Additional sessions are offered at 115 and 215pm as well.
LAP SWIMMING COSTS and PAYMENTS
The cost of a single, hour-long Lap Swim or Pool Run is $12.50. You will either have your own lane, or be sharing with no more than one other person. Again, there are a maximum of 6 people in the diving well for pool running.
Should you be in the mood to save nearly 15%, you can purchase a Swim Pack for $130, good for 12 swims over the next 12 months. Starting in October, you will be able to purchase an Unlimited Monthly Swim Pass for $170. At this time we are unable to offer any additional discounts. The Elks Pool is a private pool and, accordingly, does not accept punch cards or passes associated with the City or County of Boulder.
All payments are made online. All reservations are made online. All refunds are made online.
SPECIFICS ABOUT THE ELKS POOL
The Boulder Elks Pool is a 6-lane, 25-meter pool that features an attached diving well. The depth of the pool measures 4' on the East end of the pool, rising to almost 5' on the West end. The diving well, featuring a curved exit slope, measures 12' at its deepest.
Entry to the pool is either by ladder or directly into your lane, feet first. No diving from the deck is allowed. No use of the diving boards or starting blocks is allowed without express permission from the Boulder Elks staff.
The changing rooms have 5 shower heads, toilets, sinks and mirrors. There is limited to no lockable, locker space available. Storage bins with lids are available at the end of each lane to keep your belongings in should you choose.
A bin of kick boards is available for public use. And while additional training aids might be found in Lost and Found, the Elks do not provide fins, paddles, buoys, etc... for public use.
HOUSE RULES AND EXPECTATIONS

Please do not enter the water early unless your reserved lane is actually empty.

You may swim an additional 15 minutes after your scheduled end time if no one is scheduled to swim in your lane afterwards. This bonus is subject to change if the policy is abused.

Please enter the pool from the WEST side unless instructed to do otherwise. The placement of the pool cover spindles makes EAST entry into the water too hazardous.

The Elks Pool is a Swim At Your Own Risk facility. There are no guards on duty and lifesaving measures from an Elks staff member cannot be expected nor implied.

No glass is allowed on the pool deck.

No pets are allowed on the pool deck.

No vaping, smoking or alcohol use is permitted within the pool grounds.

Aggressive behavior towards Staff or any other Swimmer will not be tolerated and can result in your removal or dismissal from the pool.

On occasion, lessons are being taught during Lap Swimming. Instructors will ask for Lane 1 consideration. Swimmers who have Lane 1 reserved are not obligated to switch lanes but your consideration to doing so is appreciated.

The most current swim package can be purchased below. The Boulder Elks Pool Swim Pack 25-26 gives you 12 swims for $130. The Boulder Elks Pool Swim Pack 24-25 is also valid for current and future reservations.
Beginning in October, 2025, a $170, Unlimited Monthly Swim Pack 25-26 will be available for purchase and use. Wanna swim every day? Want to book a double, 2-hour session every Wednesday? Training for a really long swim? If you are doing any of those things, the Unlimited Monthly Swim Pack is for you. A full schedule of available swim times is below.
You may also purchase individual (off the rack) swims directly on the reservation page. $12.50, each.

HOW TO RESCHEDULE OR CANCEL A SWIM
Sometimes, you just can't fit that much needed swim into your schedule. And here at the Elks Pool, we try very hard
to accommodate that situation. Here's what you need to know when it just isn't gonna work out.
There is a 6-hr window for reservations to be cancelled or rescheduled prior to the time you have reserved.
If you cancel or reschedule inside of 6-hours, there is no refund.
To Reschedule or Cancel a swim, log onto the website at www.boulderelkspoolandpatio.com
In the header, select the LOG IN icon and follow instructions to LOG IN
After you have logged in, select MY BOOKINGS. All of your currently scheduled swims will be visible.
Select the swim you wish to reschedule or cancel and follow instructions.
Management DOES NOT reschedule swims for individual swimmers.
