to a better place, a better pool...

The Boulder Elks Pool & Patio is happy to welcome back the many generations of families and friends who have called this gem of a pool home for so many summers. But we have a surprise for you and we so very much hope that you like it...

You won't be going back to normal. We won't be going back to normal. We're all going to celebrate this summer and many more to come someplace better.

We've been working on the old girl while you've been away and we have to say, she's looking pretty good these days. Some new paint, plantings and polish goes a long way. We hope you and your family enjoy everything the Boulder Elks Pool & Patio has to offer this summer.

Below, you'll find links to take you to the most commonly asked about programs and offerings here at the pool. If the link isn't working, we're still updating the information. Thanks for being a part of the best kept swimming secret in Boulder!

Hard Shell Tacos

welcome to a safer, funner, and more comfortable...

There is a lot going on, again, this summer at the pool. We've been open all through the pandemic, serving the Lap Swim, Junior Club and Master's swim communities across Boulder County and beyond. Last summer, we opened our gates to the public with our weekend Community Pool, following all available best practices and adhering to local and state guidelines.

Thanks to our caring swim community, grateful guests and clients, and a practical approach toward operations and safety we have been fortunate to have had no issues with health and safety at the pool.

This season, a new Covid-19 dial, looser guidelines, emerging variants, public pandemic fatigue, accelerated vaccinations and a growing sense of both hope, concern and optimism have led the Elks Pool & Patio to develop a summer of programming and fun with a nod to continued safety, vigilance and care for our guests. Here's what to expect from the pool when our season begins.

  • The pool will continue using the very popular and successful online, reservation process through June 10. We will use this system only to keep track of how many individuals are coming to the pool. You will not receive a wristband or be limited in where you sit.

  • Last summer we were open to the community on Saturday and Sunday only. This year we will be open to the public for community swim 7 days a week

  • The not-quite-world-famous Friday Night BBQ's will return in mid to late June.

  • The Boulder Elks Swim Team returns under the guidance of new Head Coach, Anne Shawhan. Registration opens in late April and the season will start in early June. Get all your information at our team website: www.boulderelksswimteam.com.

The Boulder Elks Pool & Patio is also going through a long overdue face lift of sorts. Building, landscaping, painting and just some much needed improvements all around. There's a new and improved beauty and vibe at the Elks, embracing the 60's aesthetic with modern simplicity and execution. We're still a simple, gem of a pool, just a touch cooler.

Here are some important dates to remember...

  • May 28-31,  Memorial Day Weekend

  • June 11,  The Return of Friday Night BBQ's

  • June 15, Tuesday Night Tacos Begins

  • June 20,  Annual Complimentary Father's Day Swim

  • June 27,  First Brunch For Grown-ups of the Summer

  • July/August,  Olympic Watch Parties

  • September 3-6,  Labor Day Weekend

  • September 25/26, Final Community Pool Weekend

For years and years, Boulder families have enjoyed our little gem of a pool in the summertime. Kids splashing around, parents chatting about their summer plans with neighbors, a great big cannonball off the high dive or a beer and some good food at our Friday Night BBQ.

The Boulder Elks Pool is open year round; heated to a comfortable 81-82 degrees in the Winter, and in the high 70's in the Summer. There are expanded offerings at the pool these days, including lap swimming and pool running year round. We encourage you to keep swimming outdoors all year for some of the safest exercise you can enjoy!

Since 1967, the Boulder Elks Pool & Patio has been a cornerstone of North Boulder summers. Grandparents have watched their children and grandchildren learn to swim in our waters, many of whom began competing for the first time on the Boulder Elks Swim Team (BEST).

You don't have to be a member of the Boulder Elks to swim at the pool, but we would love for you to consider joining the organization!
